Moscow [Russia], November 1: Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko said Russia's war against Ukraine could end in a "draw," likening the conflict to a football match, the state-run news agency Belta reported on Thursday.
"Ukraine will not win on the battlefield. The Ukrainians and the West realize that. So you have to move, you have to agree," Lukashenko said at a security conference in Minsk.
"If it has to be done immediately, it could be a draw. I'm using sports language here," he said.
Lukashenko, a Kremlin ally, did not elaborate on how such a resolution could be achieved but referenced the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations that took place shortly after the war began in 2022. Moscow has portrayed the 2022 talks as though an agreement was nearly reached, suggesting that Ukraine had accepted a neutral status. (DPA)
