Washington [US], April 28: The third round of talks between the United States and Iran on Tehran's nuclear program has yielded results that have satisfied both sides as in the previous two rounds of negotiations.
Both the US and Iran assessed the outcome of the round of talks as positive and effective, both showing optimism even though they were still very cautious. The two sides agreed to conduct the fourth round of negotiations in the first week of May. The results of all 3 rounds of negotiations are a good omen for this whole process, not just a sign that "the beginning has turned".
This is very evident in the following aspects. First, both sides have so far publicly expressed satisfaction with the results of the rounds of negotiations, as well as the speed of negotiations. In the context that US-Iran relations are still very tense, but both sides have never complained, much less criticize each other for anything directly related to negotiations. The two sides have created a number of favorable premises to build mutual trust.
Secondly, the two sides have created momentum and promoted the progress of the negotiation process. It seems that the two sides share the same intention towards a new agreement on a solution to the Iranian nuclear issue, not just to deal with disagreements and conflicts of interest on certain contents. This fully restores the validity of the agreement signed in 2015 but was unilaterally terminated by Washington by US President Donald Trump in 2018.
Third, the two sides have begun to negotiate the specific contents of the new agreement. This means that a consensus has been reached on the basic principles of the new agreement. Previously, it was hard to imagine that Trump could go so far in negotiations with Iran.
