Pyongyang [North Korea], May 13: Pyongyang called on Britain, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, France and Australia to immediately stop using North Korea sanctions as a pretext for "flagrant military intervention in the Asia- Pacific ", according to a statement from the North Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted by KCNA news agency on May 13.
The statement said that the above countries have deployed ships and fighter aircraft to the Asia-Pacific region for the reason of monitoring the sanctions resolutions imposed by the United Nations Security Council on Pyongyang. .
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Korea "expressed deep concern about the irresponsible behavior of some countries taking advantage of the hostile policy and hegemonic strategy of the United States against independent and sovereign nations and called for They immediately stopped their provocations," according to the statement.
The statement emphasized that "North Korea will take necessary measures to thoroughly protect its sovereignty and security" regarding such surveillance.
"If intervention by force is its policy against North Korea, then North Korea cannot help but reconsider its policy toward it in accordance with North Korea's interests," the statement said.
South Korea's Ministry of Defense previously said that the country's and British forces conducted joint patrols in waters near the Korean peninsula in April to enforce sanctions resolutions on North Korea.
KCNA also reported on May 13 that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited weapons factories over the past two weekends, personally inspecting weapons such as sniper rifles and rocket launchers.
Mr. Kim, along with senior officials, including his sister Kim Yo-jong, praised the quality of the weapons and called on factories to firmly carry out production plans, according to KCNA.
