Washington [US], November 5: Former US presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr has used the eve of the election to call on people not to vote for him.
Kennedy, who is now supporting Republican Donald Trump against Democrat Kamala Harris, was unable to have his name removed from the ballot paper in several contested states once he pulled out.
"No matter what state you live in, do NOT vote for me," he said on X on Monday.
"Let's get President Trump back in the White House and me to Washington so we can Make America Healthy Again, end the forever wars, and protect our civil liberties."
The Republican former president had held out the prospect of appointing Kennedy, who is known as an anti-vaccination campaigner, to a role in his healthcare policy team if he wins.
At the end of October, the US Supreme Court rejected Kennedy's request to have his name removed from the ballot in the potentially decisive states of Wisconsin and Michigan. He is now worried that he could draw votes away from Trump.
The 70-year-old comes from the traditionally Democratic Kennedy family dynasty, but came out for Trump several weeks ago. (DPA)
