Tunis [Tunisia], August 12: Tunisian authorities have dismantled an international human organ trafficking network in the western province of Kasserine, private radio station MosaiqueFm reported on Friday.
Five people have been detained on charges of setting up an international network for the trafficking of human organs, MosaiqueFm quoted a court spokesman in Kasserine as saying.
The network is headed by a person who has Turkish and Syrian citizenships, the report said, adding the suspects were allegedly intermediaries who offered to help those wishing to sell their organs to travel abroad, particularly to Türkiye, where the organs are removed for trafficking.
